I started working with my Father, who was a Carpenter Contractor, when I was 8 years old. We worked from 6 am to 6 pm that summer. To my embarrassment that first year, my father made me take a nap after lunch and the others knew about it.

But I got over it and continued to work with him every chance I could get. By the time I was 18 years old I had become a journeyman carpenter. When I was 30 years old I began to take over the business side of the business because my father didn't like that part and preferred working in the field with the men.
